Adamor and Gyung Hee's presentation

-Phở Hung Restaurant-

Adamor and Gyung-Hee from Toronto
We chose Vietnamese, because Adamor haven`t eaten this kind of food, not so common in Brazil and Gyung Hee recommend south-east Asian food. Vietnamese food has some special spices, like curry and pepper. Now let us introduce some Vietnamese food.
Vietnam has been, for much of its history, a predominantly agricultural civilization based on wet rice cultivation. The base of the Vietnamese food is rice, like rice noodle*.
Some of the most famous food from Vietnam is rice noodle and rice paper wraps. We went to Pho Hung at China Town (350 Spadina Avenue). There are many ‘Phở OO’ Vietnamese restaurants, so we found the meaning of ‘Phở’.
Phở is a Vietnamese noodle soup, usually served with beef (phở bò) or chicken (phở gà). The soup includes noodles made from rice and is often served with Asian basilmint leaves, lime, and bean sprouts that are added to the soup by the person who is dining. The dish is associated with the city of Hanoi, where the first phở restaurant opened in the 1920s.

We ordered pho tai nam, beef rice noodle soup, and spring roll. The core of Beef rice noodle soup is beef bone. Bone has been extracted after 3 hours. Also you can put ginger and other vegetables for extra flavor. After that, put some thinly sliced flank steak and rice noodles. Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup typically uses rice noodles. You can buy them dried or fresh.

Fresh mint, cilantro, basil, bean sprouts, lime, sliced chili peppers can be served. Just pick and choose what you like.

Phở tai nam was very nice because the flavor was pretty strong. I like strong odor of that kind of food. However if you don’t like strong smell, maybe you will not like pho tai nam. Also if you don’t like rare beef meats, I don’t recommend this noodle soup.

Nem Nướng, it’s a very delicious food, you owner build your food, when I receive the plates I don`t understand, but my friend Gyung-Hee, explain me how do work and I liked. They served one plate with rice papers, other plate with hot water, and one big plate stacked with porky meat, cucumber, carrots, lettuce and Vietnamese mint.
I received too a sweet sauce with peanuts (very delicious, but I didn`t identify the ingredients. When I made my first piece of Nem Nướng, I made so big that I needed to bite (It`s not polite). The flavor it`s so delicious, the core of the Nem Nướng is the meat, a porky meat cooking with some particular spices.
